ABOUT DR. SCHLIMMER

A native of Portland, Texas, Dr. Schlimmer is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon. He earned his medical degree and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During his residency, Dr. Schlimmer served as both Administrative Chief Resident of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Administrative Chief Resident.

Following his residency, Dr. Schlimmer completed an arthroscopy and sports medicine fellowship at Greater Chesapeake Orthopaedic Associates/Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. While in Baltimore, he served as acting team physician for Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University and Gaucher College.

Dr. Schlimmer has completed postgraduate training in numerous orthopaedic trauma and joint reconstruction courses, and has presented papers at orthopaedic meetings and conferences throughout the United States.

He has staff memberships at South Texas Surgical Hospital, Christus Spohn South Hospital, Doctor’s Regional Medical Center and CCOPS. 

He is a member of the Nueces County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Schlimmer is actively involved with the Athletic Training Program at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and Kingsville where he provides clinical education experience to students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Degree Program in Athletic Training.

Dr. Schlimmer is currently accepting new patients.
