ABOUT DR. HALLQUIST
Dr. April Hallquist is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who was born and raised in a small town in Arkansas. She remained in Arkansas for college and earned her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She went on to complete her Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Following residency, she completed a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she had the privilege of training under and working alongside world renowned surgeons in their respective fields.
Many of the surgical patients she was caring for while in San Antonio were from the Coastal Bend area, driving her decision to move to Corpus Christi where she felt she could fulfill a need and allow patients to receive the care they needed closer to home. Dr. Hallquist’s personal experiences as an orthopaedic patient have given her the unique ability to relate to her patients and have a level of empathy and understanding that might not otherwise be possible. She has been in Corpus Christi since completing her fellowship training in San Antonio and enjoys being a part of and serving the Coastal Bend community. Dr. Hallquist provides care to many high school and college athletes. She subspecializes in shoulder and elbow surgery; however, she enjoys providing care in most areas of orthopaedics and taking care of patients of all ages.
Dr. Hallquist treasures the time she spends outside of work with her wonderful husband, David, their amazing daughters Kasyn and Bentley, and their dog Elle. She loves spending time outdoors, playing with Kasyn and Bentley, going to the beach, fishing, running, biking, and spending time with all the family. She is an avid sports fan and will always be an Arkansas Razorback at heart “Woo Pig Sooie!”
Dr. Hallquist is currently accepting new patients and looks forward to “getting you back in the game” whether that be actual sports, work, family, or just being able to enjoy life again.
