Brett Richards, MD
Dr. Brett Richards recently joined The Orthopaedic Center of Corpus Christi. He is a board eligible Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric upper extremity surgery.
Dr. Richards, a graduate of Texas A&M University, received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Richards fulfilled his orthopaedic surgery residency training at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana and completed an upper extremity, microvascular and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. His fellowship education included specialized training in reconstructive surgery for children born with upper extremity congenital birth defects, as well as other pediatric disorders affecting the upper extremities.
During his medical education, Dr. Richards spent a year as a research physician at The Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, Maryland. His research interests included carpal tunnel syndrome, tendon and ligament reconstruction, as well as nerve anatomy. Dr. Richards has had articles published in medical journals and has presented papers at orthopaedic meetings and conferences throughout the United States.
He is a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Nueces County Medical Society.
Dr. Richards has staff memberships at Christus Spohn Hospital and Coastal Bend Surgery Center.
Dr. Brett Richards is currently accepting new patients with general orthopaedic, elbow, wrist and hand problems.
